SUMMARY:ACCENT GASTRONOMY: OMGANGSTIPS VOOR BLINDE EN DOVE KLANTEN
DESCRIPTION:Op maandag 12 november van 10-16 uur organiseren we met het UD Woonlabo de opleiding ‘Accent Gastronomy: Omgangstips voor blinde en dove klanten’. \nHet doel van deze opleiding is kelners en managers van horecazaken tools en vaardigheden bij te brengen die hen helpen bij het creëren van een toegankelijk en klantvriendelijk onthaal voor mensen met een visuele en auditieve beperking. Kelners en managers worden ondergedompeld in de beleefwereld van personen met een visuele en auditieve beperking. Praktische tips\, krachtige anekdotes\, eye-openers en een gepassioneerde lesgeefster\, kortom het recept voor een geslaagde vorming\, samen mét ervaringsdeskundigen.  \nDeze opleiding kwam tot stand in een Europees project Accent Gastronomy over gastronomie\, toegankelijkheid en toerisme\, waarin PXL samenwerkte met partners in Spanje (Catalonië)\, Engeland (South Yorkshire) en Toerisme Vlaanderen. \nProgramma \n10u00 – 12u00: 1e vormingsonderdeel voor kelners: a.h.v. filmpjes worden de do’s en dont’s besproken in groep \n12u00 – 14u00: ‘Lunch in the Dark’ ervaringssessie voor horecapersoneel en -managers onder begeleiding van INTER mét voorbereiding en nabespreking \n14u00 – 16u00: 2e vormingsonderdeel voor horecamanagers: a.h.v. een Powerpoint worden de toegankelijkheidsprincipes toegelicht nl. keten van toegankelijkheid – klantvriendelijk onthaal – klantvriendelijke website \nPrijs \n1e vormingsonderdeel + ervaringssessie: € 40 (lunch inbegrepen) \nErvaringssessie + 2e vormingsonderdeel: € 40 (lunch inbegrepen) \nHele dag: € 65 (lunch inbegrepen) \n  \nBekijk hier de flyer!

SUMMARY:PDC18 Workshop : Co-creating Universal Design hotel rooms
DESCRIPTION:We want to welcome you to take part in an interactive workshop during the Participatory Design Conference (PDC 2018). \nWHAT\nIn essence\, the interactive workshop consists of a co-creation session in which participants will use their own experiences and compare these with the experiences of other users\, both with and without disabilities\, to co-create a “hotel room for all”.\nThat is\, starting from their experiences\, participants will collectively discuss the needs and opportunities they detect and will try to design UD-solutions together with a diversity of user-experts and other stakeholders. \nWHY\nThe field of Universal Design inherently contains a strong participatory component\, which PDC-attendees will most likely be familiar with\, but as a design paradigm it does have its own distinctive features. So\, the primary goal is to increase the awareness and knowledge of Universal Design in general and of the importance and relevance of UD on the issue of accessible tourism in particular\, with all participants of the workshop. The secondary goal is to use this workshop as a research method to study and collect data on the actual topic of the workshop\, i.e.\, the design of a UD hotel room.
